On the day of Jason’s funeral, we realized he did not have his frat pin to bury him in.
He was a very proud man of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, so he had all kinds of what they call ‘nalia and knicknacks with the colors and letters on them … but that day, I frantically looked everywhere for his pins and could not find any of them.
One of his very awesome frat brothers donated the pin off his own suit lapel to pin on him instead. The way he talks about that pin being buried with his beloved friend, you would think he waited his whole life to do something so noble and awesome. 😢 ❤️
The other side of giving a piece of you to someone else is the STORY that comes with it. Give something to someone so not only they can remember the story, but so you can tell the story of why you gave it away.
We are all literally made of stories. Make yours an amazing one to tell someday. ✨️
